Children of immigrants have a unique experience that is both a struggle and a gift.A choice.To choose which traditions are essential in the making of their spirit, and which ones to leave behind.As a culinary duo with heritage hailing from Dominican Republic and Haiti, we've chosen to embrace the traditions that unite us, and abandon those that divide.Our coffees embody the flavors of our island, and our food is crafted to be nostalgic but innovative.Our motto "ONE ISLAND. ONE LOVE", serves as a beacon for the message we want to deliver to our immediate community in Flatbush, and more widely around NYC, and the world.

In designing the concept and the space, I wanted to be respectful of the message that we're trying to convey. Our minimalist approach to both the design and the menu allows us to highlight the flavors that unite our island, without a lot of distraction. This approach gives power to the features and flavors we choose to showcase; it allows our guests to hear the story without the story ever being told.
